I'll read anything, but it has to grab my attention from the first page and if I can achieve that in my own stories, where my readers have enjoyed the story so much they don't want it to end, then I think that’s when a little bit of magic happens. not too long to go now..

Not long to go now before my latest book Escape West by Wagon Train: Ella’s story is ready to publish.  Here’s a small excerpt to show you what I’ve been doing.  Remember it’s an excerpt so it might read differently to this in the book. 🙂  And just a reminder – there’s no fantasy in this story, unlike the Madeleine series.

Martha walked slowly around her, admiring the dress.  “You make sure your hands are free of baking, Martha,” Ella scolded.  “I won’t get the stains out if you get something on it.”

“Oh hush girl.  You know full well I wouldn’t dare get this thing all dirty, for I do declare it’s the loveliest wedding dress I ever saw,” she said, standing back to admire the satin and silk creation.

The dress was a perfect fit, hugging Ella’s body in all the right places with the deep rich cream complimenting her skin tones and dark hair, while the satin and lace gloves covered her work-worn hands.  She lifted the heavy skirt, the half-dozen petticoats beneath it allowing the material to fan out around her.  “I do love it,” she said, “but you know as well as I do Martha that I’ll never wear it.  For how can I marry such a man?”

when the wolf bites

Just to let new readers know – When the Wolf Bites was previously published as two books under the titles When the Wolf Bites Part I and Part II in 2015.  To make it easier to read, it was republished in 2016 as one big 730-page book under the title When the Wolf Bites.  But due to requests from readers the book was once again split into two and in 2017 When the Wolf Bites: Part I became When the Wolf Hunts. When the Wolf Bites: Part II became When the Wolf Bites.  I hope this answers some of the queries I’m getting and I’m so pleased to hear how much you’re enjoying reading Madeleine and Ryder’s adventures. x

 

it’s just about the love

for those readers just starting in on the Madeleine series, although it’s a historical romance (the five book series covers the period between 1789 – 1806), and includes fantasy along with action and adventure, its really just a love story between Madeleine and Ryder and in the end that’s all that matters because everything I think is just about the love.
