Frodo and Sam Gamgee

My brother Philip introduced me to the story of The Hobbit and Bilbo Baggins many years ago and I fell in love with it, followed by the three Lord of the Rings movies.  I’ve just been watching The Two Towers, the second film in the Trilogy for the umpteenth time and I just love this conversation between Sam Gamgee and Frodo Baggins.  I think it could relate to the world we’re living in at the moment because there’s so much going on, so I typed it out for you.

I can’t do this Sam (Frodo)

I know, it’s all wrong, by rights we shouldn’t even be here, but we are.  It’s like in the great stories Mr Frodo, the ones that really matter, full of darkness and danger they were.  Sometimes you didn’t want to know the end, because how could the end be happy?  How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad happened?  But in the end, its only a passing thing, a shadow, for even darkness must pass.   A new day will come and when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer.  Those were the stories that stayed with you and meant something, even if you were too small to understand why.  But I think Mr Frodo, I do understand, I know now.  Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn’t, they kept going, because they were holding on to something (Sam)

“What are we holding onto Sam?” (Frodo)

That there’s some good in this world Mr Frodo.  And it’s worth fighting for.  (Sam)

If you’re having a tough time, I hope things get better for you.  Take care x

Paperbacks almost there!

It’s taken a little bit longer than I thought it would, but all my books are now in paperbacks, except When the Wolf Dreams. That should hopefully be up and running on Amazon in the next couple of days. I’ve tried to keep the price down as much as I can, but because most of these books are so big, Amazon have priced them as low as they can go. I’m so pleased they’re almost there!

Paperbacks

A lot of my readers have asked if I’ll ever bring out paperbacks for the Madeleine series, as I have for Ella and Ruby. I haven’t before because the stories are so long, some of them over 400 pages, that the books turned out to be really expensive for people to buy. However, because so many of you have asked for paperbacks, I’ve finally made the decision to go ahead with them. So in the next few weeks I hope to start rolling them out. So watch this space. I’ll let you know when they’re ready to go.
