I’m hoping to get Book 7 out in next few weeks but just working on Book 8 as well before I publish to make sure I’ve got all my facts straight as these books are the last in the series and as there’s endings and beginnings (no spoiler alerts) I need to make sure I’ve got it all right. I’ve also made a start on the Archard series, I know, I should be concentrating on one book at a time, but I’ve found working on more than one book keeps me motivated as its so easy to get swamped by all the work I have to do. I’ve got an admin person helping me but they can’t write the books so just bear with me. I’m hoping you’ll love these next two books – there’s not much adventure in them like you’re used to with the other books in the series, they’re more about family and friends and settling down. Although will Ryder and Madeleine ever settle anywhere? I’d like to think they do. Book 7 is currently 466 pages so its long, but its better than what it was. I’ve ruthlessly deleted and edited so its not such a big read, but I’m afraid you’re stuck with a book that’s going to be around 450 pages. x

Christmas is now over for most of us and I hope you all had the best day with whatever plans you had. I spent it with loved ones, we did a Secret Santa and I got some gardening things (which I suggested) to get me out of the cabin I had built in my garden where I do my writing in order to get more work/life balance. I used to love gardening, but after my hip replacement a couple of years ago getting up and down was too much trouble so that went out the door and with a second cortisone injection in my shoulder that hasn’t really worked its obvious I need to get away from the keyboard more often to avoid the aches and pains of sitting and typing for hours at a stretch. Looking forward to getting back into the garden and I might try pilates early next year. It’s been recommended by a family member, so I might just give it a go. Until then, I’ll plod away and try and get these Madeleine books done. Almost there, although I’ve completely broken all my deadlines. I wish I had an office full of people doing everything I don’t like, like marketing, editing, checking things over and over again, but of course there’s just me and my part time assistant who only takes care of my admin work but at this stage of a book, anything and everything helps. x
