Just when you think you’re on top of things, you realize you’re not when things go wrong. I was hoping to publish Two Feathers in May but four things happened to cause delays.
First, the company who holds all my covers upgraded to a new system and now I can’t access any of my covers (eleven of them, including covers for the last three books in the Madeleine series). They’re working hard for me on retrieving all those covers, with Two Feathers being the most urgent as I need that cover to publish book 7.
Then I had a brief hospital stay to check on a few things that turned out okay.
Then my cat was in an accident with another cat and snapped his lower jaw in half which required two nights in the vet hospital, a great deal of money to fix him, pain relief for two weeks and two more vet visits to check him out. He’ll have his jaw wired shut for the next two months, he can eat okay as his upper jaw is fine, but just under his chin and along that lower jaw is all wires.
The last thing was three tradesmen coming here over two weeks for various things that went wrong. I tried to work while they were here but there’s always questions that need answering amid lots of noise.
I tried getting up before dawn to work on the book and again late at night, but I’m still behind. This book has been the hardest out of all my books to get published for various reasons, but it’ll get there.
