Too many characters !!

I wonder if other authors feel like this … too many characters, too many story lines. I just sat back in my chair here in my little cabin/studio I built at the back of the house and looked at the screen and thought wow! what have I done. There’s too many characters in this book and so much happening I keep moving chapters around and its making my head spin. The book is already 445 pages long and still not finished, sorry for holding you all up but I’m doing my best.

This book (Book 7/Madeleine series) was meant to be done and published a month ago, but with too many characters I decided a year ago when I was working on these four books together that I would kill off one of the leading characters. It seemed the right thing to do at the time. I was sure she wouldn’t be missed at all as her part in the story was over. But her death actually became the story and I realized I didn’t like it … so she’s been brought back to life which means the book is going in another direction completely, which I think is so much better. But now I’m behind in all my deadlines because I’m having to change things in Book 8 as well. I did this in Ruby. I was almost finished the story but I didn’t like her love interest so I got rid of him and ended up with Sawyer, who suited her much better.

Do you want to know who I killed off? I don’t think it matters, because she’s now alive and well … but remember Lily? She married Bryn and went to America with Madeleine and Harry in When the Wolf Bites. Well, I killed her off, which created a bit of misery for a few people and I decided it wasn’t worth it. So she’s back and I’m very pleased about that x Better things are happening and I think you’ll like them too.

I’ve also bought the cover for Book 7 – I love it so I hope you do too. I’ll have a reveal in a few weeks when this story is a bit further along.
