overwhelmed

by how many of you are downloading and reading my books. I just want to say thanks for your support. I’m still struggling to get through Ruby’s story – it’s turning into a good 400 plus page book, so just bear with me. I’m trying to get it done. And I’ve almost got my new cover ready to go which I’m really excited about – thanks Charlene Raddon for all your hard work and for putting up with my constant requests for changes!

Anyway, back to my laptop. But I’ll add another excerpt here for you. Best I can do at the moment.

Ruby turned back to the cabin and saw Tucker sitting on the top step of the porch, yet only his face was visible in that pitch blackness, illuminated by the glowing coals of the pipe he held to his mouth.

She didn’t want to go back inside, finding the heat of the cabin and the four walls claustrophobic after all those months of living outdoors.

“May I join you?” she asked as she walked towards him.

She heard Tucker grunt his approval and then careful of his hip, he moved over to let her sit beside him.  Ruby gathered her skirts and sat down on the dusty step.  And that didn’t bother her either, although once it might have.  But she was well used now to sitting on dusty grounds and well used to wearing soiled clothing.  None of it mattered to her much these days, not like it once would have.
